Background

Hello! My name is Noella, and I am 10 years old and I live in Chicago, IL. I am transgender and I use pronouns she, her, and hers. I am in 4th grade, I love going to gymnastics twice a week, dancing, and having fun with my friends. I have younger 2 siblings, a cis brother, and a theybie. I also have a dog, two cats, and a bearded dragon. I socially transitioned at 4 years old, legally at 6 years old and I am being monitored and hoping to get hormone blockers soon! Both of my parents are trans-masculine. We are one big queer family!

My journey as a transgender child has been unique because when I was 4.5 years old, I became the youngest known hate crime victim in Chicago at that time. I have been able to use that experience to be a peer counselor for other transgender kids like me who need someone to talk to about their gender. I have had a great support system of therapists and my family to help me be confident and affirmed girl I am today.

I am also a runway and fashion model and I get to travel all over working with designers and brands that promote visibility for transgender individuals. You can see me at New York Fashion week walking with the Trans Clothing Company in February of 2022! I have also been able to sit on panels, public speaking, and stand with local and state government officials to promote rights for transgender youth. I am so excited to be LGBTQ and ALL’s first youth ambassador and I hope to inspire everyone to support transgender kids like me!
