I am a big example of the phrase “growth is not linear.”
I went to East Carolina University and received a Bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Pedagogy and the Mind in 2015. This was after years of going back and forth between English Education and Geology.
I worked as a Neurofeedback Technician for an alternative healthcare clinic and realized that my patients needed more than just electronically-assisted brain training. They needed someone to talk to. They needed a counselor.

I worked in real estate with a wonderful team for about a year and realized I needed to pursue my newfound passion of becoming a therapist. I didn’t want to become just a regular therapist. I wanted to create something unparalleled, quirky, and artistic. I worked full-time at ECU while pursuing my Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling with a certificate in Substance Abuse Counseling. In 2019, I graduated, and shortly after, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Cosmic Mirror Counseling sat developing in the womb of my mind for about 7 years before I was ready to burst forth with my ideas. With the stardust of creativity trailing behind me, I worked to make my dream a reality.

After bouncing back and forth for years, I can say with certainty: GROWTH IS NOT LINEAR.

Growth is uncomfortable. Growth is sometimes painful. Growth happens when you dive into your shadows. That’s what Cosmic Mirror Counseling is all about.
