Here are some current statistics about mental health in the UK:
- One in eight (12.8%) youth ages 5 to 19 has had at least one mental disorder in 2017.
- Emotional disorders were the most prevalent kind of condition, occurring in 8.1% of kids ages 5 to 19 in 2017.
- Mental health disorders increased as young people got older. For example, 5.5% of kids ages 2 to 4 had a mental illness, compared to 16.9% of 17 to 19-year-olds.
