History/Data
London is one of the most world-famous cities; however, its history is not entirely clear. Some theories believe that London was first built by the Romans around 50 AD. In addition, the origin of its name is confusing to many. Throughout history, London went by various names like Londonium, Ludenwic, and Ludenberg. Many people think that the name for London must have been derived from the old Celtic word “Londinous,” meaning “to be bold.”
As previously mentioned, Greater London’s 2021 population is about 9,425,622 residents. Its population has increased by 121,606 residents since 2015, representing a 1.31% yearly change.
