History/Data
Everett was incorporated in 1893, right after the Great Northern Railway arrived. After the arrival of this railway, Everett became known as a significant lumber center with various massive sawmills. In addition, in 1897, Everett became the county seat after a disagreement with Snohomish, and this issue was contested over several elections and even went to the Supreme Court as a case.
In 2021, Everett’s population reached its highest point to date at 112,249 residents.
