Buddy has worked as a mental health professional for over a decade. He began his career with the top adolescent program in the nation. As a result, this gave him a solid foundation for his career path. In addition, Buddy has been involved in every aspect of treatment. These include behavioral tech, admissions, marketing, counselor, and program director. This experience gave him the tools to know what it takes to open a successful program. Buddy’s fundamental knowledge of successful treatment centers and his passion for helping others are what has helped him launch the New Hope Healthcare Institute.
Buddy stands by the belief that the client comes first. He does his part to ensure everyone who enters the program gets their needs met. In addition, Buddy’s most significant mental health influences come from two people. These include Martin Seligman, the father of Positive Psychology, and Viktor Frankl, the author of Man’s Search for Meaning.
Also, Buddy uses as many experiential practices as possible and is an enthusiastic proponent of adventure therapy, which he often incorporates with New Hope programming. He spends his free time outdoors with his family, enjoying all the beauty Knoxville has to offer.

New Hope has changed my life. They have helped me transition back into living in the real world. The staff is absolutely amazing and have literally helped me with my mental health struggles and making sure that I’m getting my medication and anything I need on a daily basis is all provided and taken care of. They offer individual therapy which I have gotten so much insight about myself and my behaviors. They also have group therapy and and amazing group facilitators and they teach a wide range of mental health struggles and substance abuse topics and coping skills that I use on a daily basis. Coming here was the best decision I made for my sobriety
I have had the opportunity to work with New Hope from a business to business standpoint. The operational and support staff are extremely committed and passionate to success of their patients. Implementing the best tools for their patients to assist in the recovery process thru a variety of proven therapies in the most empathetic way. I could immediately sense the passion behind the executive leaders, councilors, and therapists for their patients to not only successfully complete the treatment program but maintain sustained success and support in their sobriety journey. I could not recommend them enough for the positivity they encourage in their staff, patients and impact the have on the larger community. They are truly an asset to the profession and Knoxville, TN area.
This was a great program all the way around. The structure of my treatment plan was laid out extremely well and instrumental in helping me get better. Also, all of the staff members were amazing, willing to help, and have tons of experience. The admissions staff was very welcoming and supportive in getting me where I needed to be. I have definitely excelled because of New Hope and I would recommend this program to everyone looking for help.
